1. NAPS 2015 Grants

NAPS is once again offering grants to graduate students and early-career scholars (i.e., within 5 years of Ph.D., regardless of employment status). The deadline for applications for this year’s grants has been changed to February 16, 2015.

Details about the grants and how to apply are available by clicking here. They are listed as #4 and #5 on that website. NAPS will not be offering the other award categories this year.

All application materials, including reference letters, should be sent to the NAPS Secretary at bmatz@carroll.edu. Please direct eligible graduate students and your colleagues to these materials!!

  3. Help sought with Metadata for the Open Patrologia Graeca Online

We are looking for help in preparing metadata for the Patrologia Graeca (PG) component of what we are calling the Open Migne Project, an attempt to make the most useful possible transcripts of the full Patrologia Graeca and Patrologia Latina freely available. Help can consist of proofreading, additional tagging, and checking the volume/column references to the actual PG. In particular, we would welcome seeing this data converted into a dynamic index into online copies of the PG in Archive.org, the HathiTrust, Google Books, or Europeana. For now, we make the working XML metadata document available on an as-is basis.
