Claude Lepelley (1934-2015)

Claude Lepelley, specialist in Late Antiquity, and especially, in St. Augustine, died Sunday, February 1. He was president of the Institut des Etudes Augustiniennes from 1987-2000 and his work on Roman Africa was published in their collection in 1979-1980, showing the vitality of north Africa at a time of the decline of the Roman Empire. He preached the Lenten conference in Notre Dame Cathedral in 2008, his last public appearance  (see http://www.paris.catholique.fr/546-Conference-de-Careme.html et pour la vidéo:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiHi2UKR4vU ). His funeral will be in Paris on Friday, February 6.
